Contract rate report guide

How to read the contractor rate report

Start with a like-for-like source rate, then model the commercial assumptions that apply to your engagement. The market range and the annual scenario answer different questions.

Read the range, not just one number

25th percentile

P25

About one quarter of compatible submissions are at or below this point.

Median

P50

The middle compatible submission: half are lower and half are higher.

75th percentile

P75

About one quarter of compatible submissions are at or above this point.

Transparent methodology

How a publishable cohort is built

  1. Match comparable evidence. Daily and hourly submissions are never pooled. Published rates are shown before GST, while the scenario keeps GST, super and non-billable time visible and editable.
  2. Show small cohorts honestly. One to four compatible rates are published with low confidence as the median, observed range and anonymous source values. Percentiles appear only when the cohort is large enough to support them.
  3. Show evidence quality. Sample size, latest submitted date and confidence remain beside the result. Employer or client names, source IDs and contact details are not published.
